Potholder/Mini-Quilt Workshop

This workshop covers many of the basics of building an appliqué quilt.....but in a small kitchen friendly and usable format!

 

The instructor will cover:

  • Fabric choices for background and pattern pieces for maximum pop
  • Tracing pattern onto lightweight fusible interfacing
  • Satin stitch machine appliqué as pattern pieces are layered onto front of piece
  • Free motion machine quilting through quilt sandwich (using sewing machine with capability to drop the feed dogs)
  • French double binding technique for finishing 

Students will receive one pattern (Guild or Shop's choice) and instructions for completing the Potholder/Mini-Quilt in class or at home.

Students should have basic sewing skills and knowledge of their own sewing machine.

 

The Potholder/Mini-Quilt Workshop is a full-day course (6 contact hours).  Guilds or shops interested in hosting this workshop can contact Amy Mundinger for fees and scheduling.  A materials list for the class will be provided for students prior to the workshop. A full materials workshop kit can be provided by the instructor if requested for a per student fee.
